Police Arrest 4, Cite 42 in Nashville Over Weekend for Violating Mask Mandates

Nashville Metro police arrested 4 people and cited 42 others for violating mask mandates over the weekend on Broadway.

The police wrote 20 citations on Friday, 18 on Saturday, and four on Sunday. One arrest was made Friday, and three were made Saturday.

One of those arrested this past weekend is one of these visitors is a 45-year-old man from Florida named Patrick Walls. Walls was arrested Saturday for not wearing a mask. Reports state that Walls was warned to put on a mask after being ejected from a bar.

Walls proceeded to “annoy the nearby police by yelling” and acting aggressively, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police arrested Walls for public intoxication and “repeatedly not wearing a mask in public despite warnings.”

Other arrests were made after citizens initially complied with police orders to put on masks but removed them later.

The arrests come just days after a 61-year-old man was arrested for violating the mask mandates.

Police greatly increased their presence on Broadway this past weekend, bolstering numbers of walking patrols and employing a six-person ATV unit.

The increased police force comes under orders of John Drake, the Metro Police’s Interim Police Chief. Drake took the reigns Thursday after former Police Chief Steve Anderson retired amid calls for his resignation from both city council members and the Tennessee chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Drake has made it clear that one of his primary goals as the interim chief is to enforce Nashville’s mask mandates and help Mayor John Cooper “mitigate this pandemic.”

Mayor Cooper had strong words concerning the mask mandates last week, saying that visitors to the city must abide by the mask mandates. “Otherwise, Nashville is not the place for you,” said Cooper in a statement. He said that visitors must “follow [Nashville’s] rules to keep everyone safe.”

“Metro Police . . . were no doubt ordered to enforce non-laws, not passed by the Council or Legislature,”
So, we have police enforcing non-laws. Is not that a crime, per 18 U.S. Code § 242.Deprivation of rights under color of law ???
Recall the old saw “Who will watch the watchers, guard the guardians, police the police?”
Who but ourselves? Self-defense is a valid reaction when stopped, harassed. threatened, unlawfully arrested . . . The Supreme Court itself has recognized that officers acting unlawfully have no immunity and no special privileges.
If the police – and their new chief – continue as they are going, they should not be surprised to find themselves ostracized, sued, resisted, facing large crowds of now-belligerent people, and worse.

These people could become millionaires if they only act. Organize and file a class action civil lawsuit against the city: endangerment of public health under color of law. Here’s the science to support you:

There is no rational basis whatsoever to be in this state of irrational fear. Stop, now. Facts don’t matter in clownworld, and there is no voting your way out of clownworld, You have to act in an effective manner, use the enemy’s own rules against them.

For any of those who have an underlying health condition, even that wearing a mask causes you undue stress and anxiety, file a civil rights complaint with the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Civil Rights Division. Here’s how: https://www.ada.gov/filing_complaint.htm

If you don’t act, don’t complain. Just take what’s coming to you.

A mandate isn’t a law – so you can’t be arrested for it.

  4. Ed

The voters need to fire mayor Cooper.

Expect lawsuits, city of Nashville. The law and science are clear. You violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, HIPPA laws, and the 5th Amendment with NO scientific evidence to justify the effectiveness of the masses wearing masks. However, science does suggest mask wearing mandates can be dangerous for the vast majority of people. https://www.bitchute.com/video/FFzc6ppAQAjW/ Only an individual’s doctor can tell their patient they need to wear a mask. And no one has the right to ask about a person’s private medical information. Legally, you must assume non-masked people have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask and leave them alone on the grounds of privacy laws. Furthermore, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL has defined TORTURE: mandated lockdowns, mask wearing, and treating healthy people as if they’re presumed sick are just a few tactics that QUALIFY AS TORTURE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeVf8Bq1knk&t=21s

I wish we had transparent contact tracing information, we have to rely on the “data” we are told in Mayor Cooper’s briefings. However, if you internet search “cooperation with contact tracers” it seems that many states and cities are struggling with cooperation with LA noting that 60% of workers are refusing to cooperate with contact tracing. Another article says that their employer has threatened termination if they cooperate because the business doesn’t want to be shut down. That being said are we harassing our tourists to drive them away and further shut down our economy (many blue cities and states are trying to remain closed to damage Trump) and are they really the driving source of infection? Are there any non-liberals in our government questioning the information provided by our local COVID task force?

Do they have nothing better to do?

    1. Ron Welch

Mary, I’m sure the Metro Police do have better things and would rather be doing such as patrolling for and arresting actual criminality. They were no doubt ordered to enforce non-laws, not passed by the Council or Legislature, which likely was the reason Police Chief Anderson retired (or was forced out ) early.
